About the Zika Shield Portable Mosquito Net
Mosquitoes are a problem.
Far deadlier than any large predator, like bears or sharks, mosquitoes kill almost a million people each year.
How? Through carrying diseases like Dengue Fever, Malaria, Yellow Fever, and the rapidly spreading Zika Virus.
Bed nets have proven effective in fighting the spread of Malaria and other diseases. But they only work at night. So, I wanted to come up with a type of mosquito net that works anytime and anywhere.
The Zika Shield Portable Mosquito Net is that design. Instead of being draped over a bed, it easily fits over umbrellas and wide-brimmed hats. The Zika Shield Portable Mosquito Net goes where you do, and can easily be rolled up and shoved into a purse or bag when you go indoors.
It’s a Do-It-Yourself Design, and can be made out of simple materials. The bottom edge is hemmed to fit the user, and then weighted so that it doesn’t blow around too much.
I first developed this design in 2016, and it’s currently pending a patent. However, I am releasing the design to the public, free for use in a nonprofit setting. Any individual, family, company, or organization is free to use and modify the design as they see fit to improve convenience and effectiveness, as long as the final product is not sold.
